"“Making
the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to
decide forever to have your heart go walking around
outside your body” (Elizabeth Stone)
Baby Bodyguards was born out of our love
and concern for children everywhere.
Part of the inspiration for our
company came when I was pregnant with my first
child. I made sure that I took the best possible care of
myself. I wanted my son to have the best start in life.
I ate right, did moderate exercise and got plenty of
rest. Once I gave birth and my son became part of the
external world, my fear and anxiety kicked in. After
all, as Stone said so well, my heart was now walking
around outside my body. Suddenly, motherhood gave me an
insight to my formerly “over protective” mom.
In an effort to learn more about how we
could ensure the safety of our child without getting
completely neurotic, my husband and I took an infant
safety class, We became certified in Infant/child CPR.
My husband became a Certified car seat installer (Child
Passenger Safety Technician).

We began learning and training ourselves
about what we needed to know to safely “childproof” our
home. After a time we were able to congratulate ourselves
for providing a safe environment for our baby... And then,
my son started crawling, cruising, and then walking. Once
again, there seemed to be potential danger around every
corner.
I felt truly lucky that I was able to
spot a problem and fix it before my son got himself into
trouble. What started as a personal project, has grown
into a baby safety crusade.
Today the Baby Bodyguard family consists
of hand picked Pediatricians, Nurses, Emergency Medical
Technicians, Firemen, Contractors and Craftsmen, all of whom
share the same passion for child safety. This blend of
expertise from so many safety professionals gives Baby
Bodyguards a very unique approach to babyproofing your home
from the real dangers without fear mongering to sell you
products.
Having a baby made me a mother and
being a mother instilled in me the need to protect and
make the world a safer place for all children. After all
when it comes to our precious “hearts”, we are all “Baby
Bodyguards”.
