FDNY’s CPR Training Program

January 5, 2010 · Filed Under Events

I thought this may be of interest to you guys. FDNY is offering a free hour long CPR to  go course.

The Department will offer CPR training to the public at both Department Facilities and participating New York Sports Club locations throughout the five boroughs. Everyone who completes the training will receive a free, transferable week-long pass to NYSC for you or a friend.

The program is designed to teach you how to save your Family and Friends.  The course does not provide certification.

As part of the class, you will be asked to pledge to give back by sharing your knowledge with five other people. To help you do so, you’ll get to take home your CPR training kit, complete with an inflatable training doll and training DVD in English and Spanish.

Time:

Place: 336 3rd St (bet. 4th & 5th Ave), Brooklyn, NY 11215

Momasphere and Bump present a probing panel discussion & book reading that examines body image and motherhood. Whether you want to become pregnant for the first time, you’re currently pregnant, 4 months out of pregnancy or 10 years out of pregnancy, this book deals with body image and fitness issues that last a lifetime. Beauty activists Claire Mysko and Magali Amadei surveyed more than 400 women, including those who are considering starting a family, moms-to-be, and mothers. They offer a much-needed forewarning on what to expect from your changing body, exposing the myths, challenges, and insecurities you’ll face throughout pregnancy and beyond—and what to do about them. With startling confessions of women’s unspoken fears and advice on how to remedy them, this essential compendium of girl-friendly advice will help champion any woman to feel her best about her body, herself, and her role as a mom.

I will be there, and am really excited because this is such an important issue. Every woman in my life has struggles with body image, and self-esteem issues at one time or another. Please come, you won’t be disappointed, and there will be great raffles (we contributed) and goody bags.
